First chartered in September 1970, Cub Scout Pack 616 serves the northern Scripps Ranch area of San Diego, California and is part of the San Diego-Imperial Council - Rancho Mesa District. Pack 616 is part of one of the world's largest youth organizations, Cub Scouts, a division of Boy Scouts of America.
The pack is active year-round, is perennially recognized as both a "Quality Unit" and a "Summertime Pack" award recipient by the Boy Scouts of America, and is regarded by The San Diego Imperial Council, as an outstanding Cub Scout program!
Successful Cub Scouting programs, unlike their scout-driven Boy Scouting counterpart, requires parental participation to ensure their success. Pack 616 succeeds due to the large number of parents of Cub Scouts within the pack who volunteer their time and talents. Working hand-in-hand with a strong local Boy Scout district and a supportive chartering organization, these adults fulfill a civic responsibility by delivering a solid "character-building" Cub Scouting program to our community's youth - the future leaders of our community and country.
